It’s not all about me

Svolvær, Nordland, Norway
I noticed not long after climbing aboard the Trollfjord, an elderly couple holding hands as they walked. How sweet, I thought. As the days went on I saw them often, always staring straight ahead, never smiling, never exchanging words. Then I noticed a blankness on the woman’s face. That, better explained their closeness. The other night, from a distance, I was watching them go by again, when the woman suddenly stared right at me with a great big smile. They stopped, and with her free hand she raised it in the air and made a fist. I choked on my post-dinner cognac, and waved meekly back.
.
The following day, I decided to stop and speak with the two. Upon seeing me, the woman immediately lit up once again … then she shifted her eyes a little lower. She was smiling and pointing at my Bayern München jersey. They were Germans. They didn’t even speak our English. It wasn’t about me at all.
.
Mid-way through the photos, you’ll see the Trollfjord tightly navigating along what’s called troll-fjord. At times this cruise ship under the control of Captain Maryann Bendiksen, with 600 people aboard, was within 4 - 5 metres from the cliffs walls :

Excellent photography as usual! Some of those pics remind me of lone outports in Newfoundland. The coast is rugged and torn from harsh weather and high seas. BUT when all is calm, all is nature at its' best. Your pictures, for me, Elenka, are breathtakingly beautiful. I am enjoying this voyage. Thank you both for sharing your beautiful adventure, yet again.
