Rather a cool start to the day. Went out on deck to take a couple of photos around 0700.
Rather brisk morning outside, saw another chap taking photos and he pointed out some elder ducks on the water which was great. Lots and lots of snow around the tops of the mountains.
We had docked at Flore, Maloy and Torvik through the morning. We will be stopping in Alesund at midday for a couple of hours.
Didn’t quite make breakfast! Kel and David did, but Pauline and I came down with the dreaded motion sickness, it was really, really rough seas. Took over an hour for things to settle down a little. Then a lady walks pass to tell us about the Viking Cruise ship that floundered and they had to evacuate 1000 passengers off the ship. Not good as it was just north of where we are.
Slept for a couple of hours after taking some sea sick pills, felt much better on rising thank heavens. Had lunch with Pauline and David. Decided to go ashore at Alesund to look around the town, but being Sunday most places were closed sadly. Steep streets, Nordic looking housing and ice capped peaks abounded around the town. It was quite picturesque. Most of the people around were tourists from the ship, only a very few locals. Back on board by 1450 ready for sailing.
Had a wander round the ship, few washing facilities for passengers including the washing soap, etc. dryers also available free.
Quiet afternoon. Dinner with Pauline and David at 1830 although we were running a little late as we stopped and took photos of the Viking Sun which was the ship that floundered in the storm yesterday.
Pleasant meal, tootled up to the observation deck for a little while, before heading back to the cabin around 2130
