Day 1 in London.

London, United Kingdom
We had a great sleep, which we really needed. We cannot get over how quiet it is here, even with the windows open.
We both woke very early and were reluctant to hit the boards and gear up into action .
But we did and headed out to find a newsagent and a coffee shop.We headed to Starbucks, had a great coffee ,purchased a visitors map and headed back to the apartment.
Breakfast newspapers, communication and showers,we are ready to face the day,We have decided that we need to get new Sims for the phones and IPads. We find an appropriate vendor and the process is conducted ,this was pain free.
We then walked down to Oxford Street. and headed for The British Museum.
This is an outstanding collection, which illuminates the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present day.
It was established in 1753 and is now the home to over six million artefacts, ranging from small archaeological fragments,to massive objects from past and temporary cultures.
It is a vast place, with over seventy galleries and a huge range of extraordinary objects. The rooms are organised by geography, history, and theme.
The whole experience is overwhelming and very rewarding. We only visited the Egyptology sector and intend to visit again before we come home.
We left about 2.30 as the place was inundated by students and visitors and the cacophony of sound was too much at this stage of the day.
We found a great little spot for lunch, then headed for Regent Street and the shops.
We returned to the apartment for an alcoholic beverage,a shower and then we ventured out for dinner. We found a Mediterranean Restaurant and had a great meal, purchased some fruit on our way home and headed back so we can endeavour to catch up on some time clock endeavours.
We have some serious sight seeing to do tomorrow so we need an early night! A great day!
