Looe and Polperro

Cornwall, United Kingdom
Today we chose to visit Looe and Polperro ,both picturesque fishing villages in southeast Cornwall.
The twin villages of east and west Looe stand on opposite sides of a broad river estuary, and supposedly there is a sense of friendly rivalry between the two communities .
Looe was a thriving shipyard and fishing port but these days tourism has taken over the town's biggest industry .Today was relatively quiet so we took advantage and walked around the town and explored the port area.
After taking far too many photographs again we leave this picturesque fishing town and drive down to Polperro.
Polperro is another ancient fishing village which is another muddle of narrow lanes and fishing cottages set around a tiny harbour.
Polperro and Looe were both heavily involved in pilchard fishing by day and smuggling by night.
These little villages, with the sun shining on them are visual feasts ,we have spent an inordinate amount of time exploring the narrow streets and pathways ,taken a plethora of photographs and chatted to locals, this is a very unique experience.
