Whitby, England, United Kingdom
We have arrived.Yesterday was a big day and we have driven approximately 640 kilometres to reach our destination.
We drove through pouring rain and huge traffic as it is a long weekend over here, presumably a Bank Holiday .
Parking is an absolute premium in these coastal areas so we have had to unpack on the curb ,throw our belongings in the entrance way after scrambling the security code, and park many miles away from our residence. It will certainly keep us fit.
Our accommodation is wonderful,we overlook the port and it is an authentic 18th Century house.
It is tiny but beautifully appointed and immaculate which is an absolute plus.
I am incorporating some photos for you to peruse.
We did two long walks yesterday afternoon, the parking issue designated the reason as well as a need to orientate ourselves.
This morning we will be visiting the Information Centre to assist us with our planning for the week.
We found a Cooperative store to obtain our supplies and we have earmarked a couple of interesting coffee shops.
We are hoping to take a train trip whilst we are here. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is privately owned and runs for 18 miles through the village of Grosmont. This little village is the home of The Aidensfield Arms and Scripps's Garage.Heartbeat memoirs!
Once we have really orientated ourselves I will share our adventures over the next few days.

Heartbeat territory, eh? 7Two is running it again, but 5 times through the entire series of reruns is probably enough, although I do love Nick and Kate, and I've cried every one of the 5 times that I saw her die! No need for Curves if your car is parked miles from your appartment. Lyn.
