Olonzac, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Yesterday we drove from Olonzac to Narbonne which was approximately 30 km away.
It is a town in the Languedoc-Roussillon region .
It is approximately 849 km from Paris.
Once a prosperous port and a major city in Roman times,it is now located 15 km from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.Sunshine and warmth!
We visited to change our SIM cards in our phones and IPads .Once again this is an interesting experience and we met several tourists who were experiencing difficulties. Our phone experience was interesting but we had no issues with the IPads, thank goodness.
This takes time ,so we orientated ourselves and earmarked the places we want to visit on our return.
The Narbonne Cathedral, dedicated to Saints Justus and Pastor, the Canal de la Robine, the birthplace of the songwriter/singer Trenet,Notre- Dame-de-Lamourguier Church,Saint -Sebastian Church,Place des Quatrefoil Fountains, the tourist office The Market Hall,Forum Square,The Merchants Bridge and the Archbishops Palace and Garden.
Once again visually stunning ,the weather was sunny and warm.
We strolled around,it is very quiet still sans tourists!
We really have to use our French and we are having great fun, sometimes a little stressful, doing it !
The Railway Station offers direct connections to Paris,Barcelona,Toulouse,Marseille and many regional destinations. We are contemplating our options.
We enjoyed the warmth, wonderful coffee, white wine and ambience.
We will be returning.
Today we have the market in Olonzac and the local folk are setting up outside our window .
It is a visual feast already.
We are looking forward to perusing the local wares and we are meeting an English couple we met day one,for a coffee at 11.

I wish I was there! I just love the squares and open pedestrian areas. We always have lots of photos of me drinking coffee, beer, (Warwick's, as I don't drink beer, but he thinks it looks good in photos), and eating cake. Some people might get the wrong impression and think that's all I ever do! Keep enjoying! Lyn.
