We arrived here early yesterday morning.We were pleased to get off the plane after 71/2 hours overnight.You have to be very fit to travel and I can tell you Dubai airport ensures you are fit as the distances are incredible.We checked into our hotel ,the Melia Dubai,and we upgraded to a grand suite and It is bliss after the small rooms we have had in a Paris and London.
We have incredible views but pollution restricts viewing .
We hit Dubai Mall yesterday afternoon and to be honest we were happy to come back to the hotel room,have room service,and go to bed as we were whacked.
Today we have hit the pool,researched the souks and will be heading out at about 4.30 as it is Friday and it is classified as the weekend along with Saturday. The taxis change shift at 4.00 so you cannot get a cab until 4.30 plus.
Shops are closed on Fridays until 4.00.The malls are a little different.
Ramadan starts on Sunday.

We have barely scratched the surface,we are heading to Souk Madinah Jumeirah directly so I will have some more information to add and we are taking a half day tour tomorrow morning.
Today at the pool it hit 40 degrees,love it!
