We travelled back to Penang on the train from KL.We left at 4.00 and arrived back in Butterworth at 10.00. We caught the 10.45 ferry from Butterworth to Penang and arrived at 11.30. It was a very long day but certainly an enjoyable one.We organised to be picked up by Simon who took us back to our apartment .
A quick unpack and a nightcap and we hit the sack at about 1 .30.
We caught some sun over the weekend and also caught up with our books.
Yesterday we had to go to Gurney Plaza to the Digi shop to replace our SIM cards for our IPads ,I digressed and organised two pairs of glasses that have cost me Australian $135.00.This is a very slick operation called OWL and I collect them tomorrow.They take your prescription from your glasses and you choose your frames.You get a discount on your second pair .I have chosen some very smart frames and I pick them up tomorrow.We pay a ridiculous price for glasses at home and this is something we will follow up in the future.
Today we hired a car and took some friends for a drive around the island.It was great and they enjoyed getting out into the local kampungs.
We visited the tropical fruit farm which was chaotic as per usual then we moved onto the nutmeg factory which is very unique and an interesting experience.From here we went to a fishing village and through several little towns and suburbs.We headed to Queensbay for lunch then headed back to Batu Ferringhi .
We have been sitting in our apartment watching the wonderful sunset .We have had some mighty shows over the last few nights.
Tomorrow I am going to collect my glasses and check out a fabric shop.We are going to a Sri Lankan restaurant for dinner tomorrow evening ,called Sri Ananda Barwan,so we are looking forward to that .
Last night we had drinks with some Tasmanian counterparts who are staying in our apartment building.We had a great time sharing stories and we will catch up with them for drinks at the Rasa on Friday followed by dinner and music at The Living Room.
