Moving Day

Lockington, Victoria, Australia
Tuesday 7th March, BlazeAid camp, ECHUCA, Vic. 11°-23°C.
We have finished the last farm at Lockington and found a new home at the Rotary Park at Echuca. Today has involved a full day of packing and shifting - and the job is only half done!
Aside from the utes and trailers, BlazeAid also has a kitchen trailer and washer and dryer at each camp. Then there is a gazillion other items from plastic food containers, pots and pans and cleaning products through small kitchen appliances to the all the food (and fridges) that have to be moved!
Rotary Park is no Lockington location. Trucks on the Northern Highway rumble along in the distance. The place is a $10/night campsite for fully self-contained vans, so there is regular traffic within the perimeter. Paid sites back on to the Campaspe River but as non-paying users, we are confined to less scenic spots around the sheds opposite. At least we score keys to the toilet and shower block which is normally locked, except for event days!
The kitchen is sizeable - but has no dishwasher…
And as compensation for taking over their clubhouse on Tuesdays - meeting nights - Kerrie has said we will cook dinner for both us AND the Rotary members. There must have been about forty cars there tonight!
Heaven help me…
At least with the kitchen in disarray, we feel entitled to treat ourselves to dinner out. Some head for takeaway and four of us try a counter tea at the Caledonian Hotel.
Chicken Parma - 8/10. Chicken serving yummy but too large, salad a little soggy. Gus, our camp hound, dines well on half a chicken breast tonight.
