Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Wednesday 3rd May, MELBOURNE. 4°-18° and wet.
Well that was a different two week adventure… three and a half months in the end, feeding BlazeAid volunteers who save the sanity of flood and fire-affected farmers. At Echuca/Lockington, they worked on 63 farms and completed over 120km of fencing. Their work is invaluable and camps around Australia always need help. Check the website for details…
It actually doesn’t seem that long ago that we were expiring in the 40° heat of a Lockington summer but the trees through Bendigo were certainly wearing autumn colours today.
I have enjoyed the challenge of trying to produce interesting, healthy meals in large quantities in a limited kitchen. Most of the volunteers have been interesting too! They all have a story to tell and I have made some lovely friends.
On to some domestic duties now after a restful night in my own bed and bathroom! Quite possibly another camp down the track though…
