My brain hurts

My first week of Spanish school is behind me now and I learned one thing. I need a second week of Spanish school. So I´ll be in Xela for another week, minimum, to keep studying and practicing. Tomorrow, I´m going to move in with a different family so I can meet more people. From a reader´s perspective, the past week wasn´t all that exciting. The classes each day are from 8am to 1pm and I even get homework assignments. So at the end of the day, there isn´t much time to do any excursions or hikes or anything like that and I´m pretty tired after studying under the brilliant 15 watt light bulb in my room. The food has been pretty good at my home stay but services like electricity and water are unpredictable. The "hot shower" they promised does have a warmish quality to it and my bed is pretty comfortable ... kind of like a camping site with only a couple rocks or tree roots under your sleeping bag. No big deal.

Last night, a local bar staffed by some folks from Holland threw a big party in honor of the Queens birthday back home . Orange is their national color and their flag is red, white and blue and the colors were everywhere. It was a fun night to go out, especially after a week of doing nothing but school work.
