Still here in the expensive city

San Salvador, San Salvador, El Salvador
El Salvador is a country in crisis! They don't have change ... how can you operate a business with out change. Wherever I go and try to pay with a $10 bill, the cashier freaks out because they can't make change. A $20 bill causes paralyzing fear. Perhaps we need to print more $1's for them or something. It's not all bad though as this gives me an excuse to go to real businesses like Subway and get lunch to break my 10's and 20's. The biggest danger I have observed in San Salvador is ... man hole covers ... or the lack of them. You need to watch where you're walking so you don't mysteriously drop into a hole. And driving is even more perilous! First, because they drive like maniacs here but again, there are missing man hole covers and if you're not careful, you will be donating parts from your cars nether regions to the sewage system of San Salvador.

This past weekend, I couldn't resist the lure of the Zona Rosa nightlife district one last time and headed out with my local friends . After this last hurrah, I am headed north toward Honduras. However, I have accomplished my major goal in coming to a large city and that was completing my vaccinations for Hepatitus A and B. So that's done. I am full immunity man now! I dare thee to handle my food in unsanitary ways ... I am immunity man!!! Umm, I don't really want that actually.
