I haven't provided an update for so long that even I'm bored with my website.... so finally, a long overdue update; although things aren't as interesting at the moment as they will be next week. In a few days, I will be on a bus bound for Medellin, home of Pablo Escobar's former drug cartel and Colombia's ex-cocaine capital. It is Colombia's 2nd largest city, very wealthy, and full of activity and things to see and do. I am expecting to meet some tour guides there. A friend from back home has introduced me to her friend Pablo via e/mail. They met in Australia but he lives in Medellin. I will contact him when I arrive. In addition, last week I met a couple vacationing here in Santa Marta and we became good friends. He is a "famous" (sort of) rock star in Colombia and his wife is an actress. I actually saw her show on TV. They are going to pick me up at the bus station and show me around town as well. So Medellin so far looks to be a great place. I hope I don't get "stuck" there for too long. There's lots to see and do in Colombia and I only have 'til June 13th to do it.

Life here in Santa Marta is fun . With perfect weather and an abundance of friends, there's always something to do. It will be difficult to leave but it must be done... heard so many good things about Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina that I can't resist seeing what's around the next corner.
