Thanksgiving? How did that arrive so fast? I needed to read a post on a friend's web sight to even realize today is the day. They don't exactly have that down here and today was like any other. For the record, however, I ate chicken milanesa and mashed potatoes for dinner. I should have gone to the Subway restaurant I recently discovered and had a turkey sandwich. But the inherent danger with that is in true Thanksgiving tradition, I would have fallen immediately to sleep after eating, thus avoiding any and all clean-up duties. I'm sure the Uruguayan Subway staff would not be impressed with finding an American face down on one of the tables. I am also especially happy to learn that the Thanksgiving Eagle did not take a crap on my bedroom window.
What the hell am I talking about? I'm not 100% sure either but information on the Thanksgiving Eagle was also obtained from aforementioned friend's web page . Apparently, if you've misbehaved this past year, he swoops down on your home and relieves himself, marking the glass for all to know you have been evil. The friend in question here is Jamie Bradish, otherwise known as "The Great Wall Nut".... just 3 more days to go before she finishes hiking the entire 1800 miles of China's most famous landmark!

So I've been out and about recently taking photos and we've also had some fun guests come through the hostel. In addition to being the Gringo Hunter(see previous post), I've appointed myself the entertainment manager as I need some excuse for a job to earn my free bed. So far Montevideo is OKish but high season is right around the corner so we'll see what that brings. Hopefully more blondes from Sweden.
