I am back in South America and I've made a direct line for the beach!

After four months working in Alaska I am due for some fun in the sun and surf with a little healthy bikini action thrown in for good measure . I'm in Mancora Peru, a place I sort of know well from my first time through here in 2005. The last time , however, I was recovering from a serious ankle sprain and I couldn't walk. I was the famous gringo that limped down the street with the aid of a broom stick and the moto taxi guys preyed upon for an easy sale. So the first thing I did when I got here was climb the hill behind the village and take the photos from the light house...a place I couldn't visit before due to my injury.  

My buddy Tamir just opened a brand new backpacker's resort and hostel so I'm here to check that out as well. I decided that this next leg of my wanderings will take me back to familiar places to revisit old friends. Hopefully I'll get to some new places and do some things I missed the first time through. But those that are familiar with this blog know I didn't miss too much my first time. My personal challenge now is to keep this blog interesting for my long time readers. So let's go.............
