Tokyo Bay Reunion

Tokyo, Japan
When we finally extracted ourselves from Macca's we headed to Ueno station to meet up with an old boss of mine and his wife. In 1988 I worked for Mr Shirae when he was posted to Sydney as a journalist for a Japanese Financial newspaper. (Nihon Keizai Shinbun.) That year he turned 40 & I turned 21. Now I'm 40 & his daughter is 21!! But seeing he & his wife again it felt like no time had passed at all.

We went to the Tokyo Bay area by train & the Yurikamome - a very scenic Monorail which the children enjoyed .

Then we visited and had a meal at the Tokyo Fune-no kagaku-kan (Maritime Science Museum) which is housed in a huge ship-shaped building.

The monorail is driverless, and on the way back the children were able to sit right up the front and had a fabulous view.
