As we woke at the Stratford Motel in Whitehorse, we decided to stay in bed for most of the day . A lazy day. However, I was about five days behind on this Travelpod, so didn't really rest in bed, just podded.

In the late afternoon, Lou, Lynn, Des and I took 3 bikes, (I doubled up with Des on my bike) and rode to Dale’s place. We had met Dale previously in Prince George but he lives here in Whitehorse. Dale had prepared a great Barbeque for us with huge Canadian beef steaks, mixed vegetables and baked potatoes. He’s a good cook. Pity he’s a bachelor, someone should appreciate his culinary skills. The area around his home had some interesting things, cottages with grass growing on the roofs, horses, huskies and white fiberglass goats on the hillside. They looked pretty real too. Dale’s neighbour Bert, breeds Huskies. It seemed like he had about 20 adult dogs and they were all barking when we rode up. It’s a bit isolated out there and must get a bit lonely in the winter when the ground is thick with snow. Dale’s dog Boss, didn’t take to me straight away and had to be put in a cage while we had dinner . Boss had the most yellow eyes I’ve ever seen.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t cold as we rode back to the Stratford Hotel from Dale’s place at about 9:30pm, and it was still light too.

Des and Lou took the bikes to a Kawasaki dealer. Lou has been having some trouble with the tubes on his and Lynn’s bikes since he’s bought new tyres, the profile doesn’t seem to accommodate the inner tube too well, and they pinch and go flat.

I chucked on a load of washing, then tumbled dried the lot, lucky to have the use of modern equipment, but made less enjoyable by the piece of chewing gum which had melted in the dryer and stuck on the clothes and the inside of the dryer drum. What a job I had created for myself in cleaning the gum off the dryer and clothes. Tea tree oil did the job, while I gnashed my teeth. The clothes do smell nice though.
