Another museum this morning which was an ancient roundhouse building with holographic images popping up as you walked round the exhibit.
After checking out of the hotel onwards to pick up our little car for the remainder of our holiday. We started going on the golden circle tourist route to the geyser but it seemed an awfully long way and the weather was very changeable. We thought time was against us so turned back and went to the visitor centre at Pingvellir which was where we had seen the Northern Lights. On arrival we found out that the clock in the car was showing the wrong time and we could have made it to our destination. Ca la vie.
As it was daylight I found out that this was the area where you could see the split in the earth where the continental plates were moving apart. In fact very close to where I had been standing on Northern Lights night was a small crevice and it was lucky I hadn't fallen in it.
Driving back towards Reykjavik we found our guesthouse for the next 2 days. Tomorrow there is a weather alert and we have been warned not to venture out due to high winds. Stocked up on provisions and it looks like it might be a making snowmen day.
The Northern lights were just visible tonight and the landlady woke us up so we could see them. They didn't develop like last time though so although I'd tried to fix the cameras there are still no photos.
