I awoke to a massive thunderstorm at 4.30 this morning. The thunder was very loud and the rain was bucketing down.
Since my phone was on charge, I had to quickly get up and pull the plug, as the wiring here has been done by Dodgy brothers, and I thought the thunderstorm might just blow up my phone.
The rain cooled things down for a little while, but it soon heated up so we decided not to bother trying to go into town for a look. Also, the hotel shuttle seems to be non existent and we don’t have enough U.S. dollars to pay the taxi since they refuse to take my $20 bill because they reckon it’s too old, or something.
They are very picky here and must have had problems with counterfeit money.
There really isn’t much to see in town anyway since we don’t want to buy anything and don’t want to get hassled by vendors again. They are as persistent as they were in Thailand.

After a leisurely breakfast, I went down and did a few laps in the pool, then came back to finally finish sorting the photos for the Angkor Wat blog entry. It was an absolute chore to do that entry as the internet here is also run by Dodgy brothers and only works properly when it feels like it. Please excuse if some of the photos are duplicated. I tried to sort out the duplicates but it just got too difficult.
Ross wasn’t well tonight so I had dinner by myself, with nobody else in the restaurant. Either there are very few people here or they all go into town to eat. Anyway I had a very tasty beef noodle dish and this time the waitress brought me chopsticks.
