Cruise to Wineglass bay

South Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
The boat left at 10.00am to cruise around the Freycinet peninsula today. The weather was fine and cool with a little bit of cloud and the boat was about 3/4 full.
We set off in relatively calm seas and motored around the end of the peninsula and then out into open sea . We had Common dolphins jumping off the bows and albatrosses flying overhead and then we cruised up to a large rocky outcrop which housed dozens of Australian fur seals. They took off into the water at the sound of the boat and swam around us.
After giving us time to view the seals, the skipper motored the boat into Wineglass bay and we stopped and anchored there for a lunch consisting of local Tasmanian produce including smoked salmon and various cheeses.
After lunch we headed back to Coles bay and had more dolphins jumping off the bow. It was a pleasant day out and afforded us some great views of the coastline.
