In Bali

Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia
We finally made it to the Magani hotel in Bali last night after 12 hours travel time but only just less than 3 hours on planes.
The hotel here is fantastic! They upgraded us on arrival to a superior room that is huge and has a little private plunge pool and surrounding lanai.
The king size pillow top bed is even better than our one at home and the shower is pure bliss as it is huge and has excellent water pressure. After 10 days of having showers by standing under the shower head catching the drips and turning the tap on and off so that the water wasn't either cold or scalding hot, it was a welcome relief. Still, that's just what you get on a dive liveaboard and you are not really needing too many showers when you are in the water all the time anyway.
We just came back from breakfast which was spectacular which is pretty typical of these hotels.
There didn't seem to be a lot of people there and there aren't many around at the hotel which is nice since it makes for more peace and quiet.
Sleeping was a bit easier last night since we didn't have the sound of engines and generators but I still woke up at 5.00am ready for the first dive at 7.00 and I still have my sea legs and can't seem to stop swaying now that I am on dry land. It is a very strange sensation.
It was good to have the company of Julie and Les last night while we were waiting to catch our flight. They were good fun and we all sat in a coffee shop lounge which was quieter than the main part of the airport, and much more comfortable.
We are now considering what to do today after we relax around the pool for a while. I think we are situated pretty much on the main street that runs down through Legian and Kuta so we will go for a stroll down there later and look in the shops.
It is a bit sad how developed it is here now. When I came here in the seventies Kuta was just a dusty little surf hangout, now it is chock full of hotels and shopping centres and the traffic seems to get worse every time we come here.
