The Long Flight Home, 1st Leg

New York City, New York, United States
We took off a little late, about 1:40 AM, received a sandwich for dinner (great, more food) then took a sleeping pill.. Slept about 6 hours (over half the ride). The flight was uneventful. Sat next to a couple who had been on the Margaret Morse tour with 4 buses and 40 people per bus. Are we glad we did Gama and not that tour. They were not real thrilled. Got breakfast on the plane about 4:30 AM EDT. Not bad. Our bodies have no idea what time it is. The flight took 11 hours and we landed one-half hour early at JFK. We sailed through customs. Delta wouldn't take our checked-through luggage after customs in the forwarding area without a $25 per bag fee. Took the Sky Train to the Delta terminal and talked to the line representative who said we could just give our luggage to the counter expeditor at no charge, otherwise we would have carried on. Hopefully we will see it in Las Vegas. We figured out by 9 PM tonight (Wed) our bodies will think it is 6 AM Thurs in Israel, a full two days since we got up to leave Eilat for home.
