Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory, Australia
Day 7 – Gained ½ hour in time last night. We were picked up Thursday morning at 630am by John for our 2 day adventure to Kakadu National Park. Kakadu is about a 2.5 hour drive from Darwin.  John kept up a running commentary for most of the two days we spent with him. We learned everything about Kakadu from land management, the six season cycle in the North and the history and current state of affairs of the Aboriginal people. Thursday we visited the Nourlangie Rock Aboriginal painting site. After lunch, we took a Yellow Water cruise on the South Alligator River where we saw a lot of Crocs, some wonderful bird life and different tropical trees and plants. After a visit to the Warradjan Aboriginal Culture Center we made it to our hotel, the Gagudgu Crocodile Lodge in the town of Jabiru (the hotel is built in the shape of a croc). Jabiru is owned by the Uranium mining company located in the National Park.  Took a swim then had dinner at the only place in town-the hotel.
