Day 20 – Up at 430am today to get ready for our early pickup for our flight to Christchurch. Our flight was 30 minutes late leaving Sydney so have had plenty of time to catch up on the journal. It is Halloween but at least in Australia it is not really celebrated. We were told there are some parties around but not much. We are about the scariest things around. Thanks to a cup of coffee at the airport and good planning (?), we only had 5 cents Australian left when we departed the country. We are looking forward to some laid back sightseeing in New Zealand. Arrived in Christchurch at 2pm. After going through customs, which was easier than Brisbane, we took the Super Shuttle to the Millennium Hotel. After changing our room from the 1st floor to the 10th, we checked out the area around the hotel and some dining places. We bought a bottle of wine and got a great recommendation for a local restaurant, The Dux de Lux. Had a great groper fish dinner and some local wine. Found free laptop internet access at the local library…beats $33.00 a day at the hotel. Tomorrow we get our car and head out to Mt Cook.
