If You're Not Irish, Two Very Long "Hours"

Salthill, Western Ireland, Ireland
On way to Galway after getting refund from Mrs. Farrelly & giving her 4 vouchers, ₤58 went into Helen’s purse. Got out of Dunleary & stopped first in Kinnegad— potato soup, coffee & roll.

2 shots— church in Kinnegad & statue of BVM in church yard .

Two short(??) hours from Galway

Shot St. Sinian’s Church— Tyrellspass, Pat in far foreground

Cathedral [actually SS Peter & Paul, a parish church] from street & from bridge in Athlone

Boat & swans from bridge in Athlone— River Shannon

Wedding party on church steps, Ss. Peter & Paul’s Catholic church

Shots of sheep in pastures, some rock walls showing— both sides of road to Galway

Finally arrived at Seacrest (not easily) and were greeted by Miss Connolly. Her mother in Dublin till later this evening.

Took shot of sign in front of B&B with customary rock walls in background.

Mrs. Olive Connolly is landlady at B&B. We hope to give her hotel vouchers for our rent.

5:40 p.m. & Helen is hungry. (Me too). Will go up to Galway, 3 short(??) miles from here. Turn left out of driveway and continue to roundabout, turn left at roundabout & continue on to “Y” in road. Take left-fork of “Y” for Galway.

Had excellent dinner at Eyre House Restaurant in Galway. Authentic Irish music at Pucan Pub was disappointing.

Returned to B&B around 11. Found way in dark after usual small difficulties.
