February 6, 2016: A SUNNY 3RD. DAY IN CAPE TOWN Was I ever so glad, that we didn't have to meet the sister and husband of our acquaintance from the plane until 11 am. By 10 AM we both felt up to par to face the world again. After breakfast, we marched ourselves to the pier shopping center past the clock tower.   Voila, there they were, right in front of the Woolworth. Daniele (Dany) and Claude are a very nice couple in our age group, easy to talk to and we had something to drink in a fancy hotel by the ocean. The hotel was recently refurbished into the old Portuguese splendor. We delivered her sister’s souvenirs and after we chatted for 2 hours we went on our way. They had to do some shopping, Jim went back to the ship and I had another great and leisurely 2 hours just bumming around the busy pier taking in the vibes, people watching, listening to the music of some folkloric bands. Also I found an enclosure where some seals were playing with their young ones. By 3pm I strolled back to the ship and called it a day, because we had to say goodbye to this great city by 4 pm. The rest of the evening we enjoyed by sitting on our cabin balcony, seeing the city at a distance and later on passing the Lighthouse of Cape Hope.

To summarize the 3 days in Cape Town: "It’s worth the trip!"  Cape Town is a city that leaves a very positive impression. A city where we would love to live.

Next, we will be one day at sea and on Monday, February 8, we will arrive bright and early in Port Elizabeth. Until then “GOEIE MIDDAG”.

PS: By the way, we continue receiving your most welcome “comments”. We enjoy hearing from you. Thanks for keeping in touch even if we have not been able to get back to you.

Hi Nelly & Jim, it has been wonderful & fun visiting these wonderful places through some pictures & your written words. Cape Town, Africa was one of the most impressive areas. I think I told you my Godson's Parents were there as missionaries for many years. They left America with three little boys, and had a daughter while living there. They really enjoyed living there a lot. There oldest son still lives there and has a successful Career and business. He writes & records Commercials for Companies. He also did the sounds for several National Geographics Documentaries. Anyway, you will note that one of my 'comments' ended' abruptly....I was going to tease you about learning their language. My darn finger does what it pleases and it misbehaved again! Looking forward to sharing the rest of your travels. We are missing you two though!

Just wanted to chime in with my own words of THANKS for sharing. Been hobbled up with back problems for the last 3 weeks, and not able to do much myself. So its very nice and welcome to share vicariously in you two's travels. Hope you get a good connection soon and can get those pictures uploaded! Darla & the kids got a huge kick out of the trick Jim played with the Toilet Paper in the room - LOL!!! Hope those prunes did the trick!
