This day, I did a day tour around the Fife region just north of Edinburgh, the main part of which was St. Andrews.

The first stop was the Forth Bridges, which comprise a road bridge and a train bridge . The bridges cross the Firth of Forth and the train bridge was an ambitious engineering project at the time it was built.

We made our way to the town of Anstruther on the east coast, a quaint Scottish town with some views out to the North Sea.

We then made our way to St Andrews. I started off by checking out the historic St. Andrews Golf Course (though didn't partake in any golfing, unfortunately). I then made my way down the coast to St. Andrews Castle. It was quite neat exploring the old castle and the various catacombs therein. After I was done exploring the castle, I went up to St. Andrews Cathedral. There's a structure in the middle of the graveyard I climbed and got some great views of the town and coastline. I also checked out the small museum there.

After spending some time in St. Andrews, our next stop was the historic Falkland village. It's a quaint village that has some rather interesting architecture.

After stopping in Falkland for a while, it was time to return to Edinburgh and finish the tour. Throughout the tour, the guide told us quite a bit about the history of the area, including Queen Mary of the Scots.
