We spent the day exploring the Scottish Highlands and taking in the scenery they have to offer.

Our day started off with us leaving Ullapool and heading up towards the Assynt region .

We stopped off at a coffee shop near Lochinver, then went to Lochinver for lunch. We took a scenic walk through the nearby Culag woods afterwards and got some nice views of Loch Culag and the surrounding forest.

We then went up to Achmelvich Bay, on which a beautiful white sand beach is located. The water's of course quite a bit colder than what you'd find by a typical tropical white sand beach.

We then went up to Assynt and stopped off at Ardvreck Castle, a now-ruined castle on a small peninsula jutting out into Loch Assynt. The landscape the castle is situated on is quite scenic and there were some excellent views of the lake.

To wrap up our day's excursion, we stopped at Knockan Crag, a nature reserve a little ways north of Ullapool. We stopped at an exhibit on Ben Peach and John Horne, geologists who studied the geological formation of the Scottish Highlands.
