I'll be taking a short trip to Romania and Belgium this week. It's an interesting combination, but I think I will enjoy both places. As usual, I won't have enough time to do everything I want, but that is typically the case for me. The weather will be winter-like, but hopefully not as cold as it is here.  

Here is that plan of attack: 

-Land in Bucharest and spend the night.
-Take a train from Bucharest to Brasov and spend three nights there. Spend some time in the cute town of Brasov, explore Peles Castle and take a day trip to the medieval town of Sighisoara. 
- Take a train back to Bucharest and then take a short flight to Brussels. Spend two nights there. 
- Take the train (1 hour) to Bruges, the "Venice of the North." Spend two nights there.
- Take the train back to Brussels, spend the night, and catch an early flight back home. 

In true Jamie fashion, it will be a whirlwind trip, but I'm allowing myself some flexible time to go with the flow. At least, I hope that will happen.
