Holy traffic at O'Hare this evening. Welcome to traveling during the busiest time of the year!
I was actually concerned (for a few minutes) that leaving Milwaukee via bus at 3:10 was going to set me back. I didn't arrive to Terminal 5 until after 6. Luckily, Turkish Airlines wasn't busy, and security wasn't bad, either. It still shocks me how much crap (stuff) people bring on trips. I understand if some people are going home for a long period of time, but I still can't get over it. Bags and suitcases and blankets and pillows and purses and more bags. I'm like, this isn't your living room, people. Oh well.
Now, just waiting to board. Flight time is 11 hours. The Turkish Airline experience is always very nice. Hot towels, little Turkish treats, slippers, actually decent food (for an airline), and snacks and water are always available.
Hopefully all will go smooth and I will arrive in Zagreb tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. I don't know that I will take the bus into the city center on Thursday morning. I was in Zagreb two years ago, and I'm not sure what I could see that I haven't already, especially in that short amount of time. Sleep and resting sound pretty nice right now.
See you across the pond!

Have a fab time, Jamie. And, yes, people take all (ok, it seems like it) their worldly possessions with them. Crazy! We’re just back from a week in Ireland and encountered the same thing on our plane. Sounds like a great trip, can’t wait to follow you.
