4 Months and Counting

My first "Costa Rica" post - yay!

Yes, I am going somewhere, again. When my friends and family see me, they always say, "where are you going now?"  I can't help it. I love to travel, and after being in Morocco, it has taken on a whole new meaning for me.

For the past few years, I had been considering doing volunteer travel, but I didn't have to guts to do it. Flying into a foreign country by myself and being picked up by a stranger seemed scary. I'm not sure why, but that whole process doesn't seem as scary anymore.

I was VERY close to signing up for a volunteer trip to Costa Rica when the Morocco opportunity came my way. After I got back from Morocco, I wanted to make this a reality, so I signed up to volunteer for one week in an orphanage in Costa Rica at the end of February. The program is through (IVHQ) International Volunteer HeadQuarters, and I have heard nothing but positive things about them. So far, my experience with them has been great. They even have a Facebook fan page so I can try and connect with other travelers.

After I'm done volunteering, my cousin is joining me for a few days to relax and explore Costa Rica's beauty. Between now and then, I have to brush up on my Spanish, especially "Costa Rican" Spanish.

I know these next few months will fly by, and that's ok with me!

Until next time,
Jamie
