4 Weeks

Have made more progress in the last few weeks.

- purchased travel insurance for $13! Granted, it might only cover one broken leg instead of two, but it's something.

- purchased flash cards, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, colored pencils, pens, notebooks, etc. for the kids in the orphanage to keep. Discovered I can actually check in two bags, so I will bring a small backpack of my goodies. Then, I can use it for souvenirs for the way home!

- booked transportation to and from San Jose.

- booked a tour guide for Manuel Antonio park (as my guidebook suggested).

- booked a canopy zipline tour (yay!).

- found and need to book a Doka coffee/Poas volcano tour in San Jose.

- purchased a new suit and binoculars.

- practicing Spanish. Went to a library Spanish/English conversation group, and surprisingly enough, I could understand what people were saying. My speaking was not as great, but I'm working on it.

- am reading more and more interesting tidbits about Costa Rica: they have one of the highest literacy rates among Central American countries, they don't have an army, they are big on education, and their presidential election is in about a week.

Adios for now!
