Yesterday was a pretty amazing day. We took a tour through Manuel Antonio National Park and saw all kinds of things - birds, sloths, monkeys, frogs, lizards. I will post some of the pics. The monkeys were incredible.

Then we relaxed on the public beach for a few hours . It was H O T !!! Thank goodness we had an umbrella above our beach chairs. I pretty much stayed underneath this the whole time, and it will not take much for me to burn here, and I don't want to be miserable. The color of my skin is pretty much white or will turn red, and I will choose to stay white, if I must.

We met up with a mutual friend, Shannon, who moved down here from the states two weeks ago. We went to a Tappas bar, Salsipuedes, drank guaro sours and watched the sunset! AMAZING! It was so relaxing just to sit and watch it and how quickly it disappeared behind the water. Then we went to a restaurant where we had more amazing food. Shannon said she has not had any bad meals here, and I believe it. We had a great time, and it was nice to connect with someone from "back home."  :)

Today, we are doing a zipline canopy tour through the rainforest and will probably go back to the beach after that. I'd like to buy some "touristy" souvenirs.

Sweat update: Yeah....I pretty much walk out of the door and sweat from the start. The humidity is unreal, but at least everyone else is the same way.

Cold update: Shannon (bless her heart) went to the pharmacy yesterday and bought me some Zithromax, which you can actually get over the counter here! It has helped me feel better, but I still just don't feel "up to snuff."  At least now I can breathe through my nose, but I'm also coughing up nasty gunk. But hey....I'm in a beautiful country with great people, so I can't complain. :)
