Roller Jam and Irish Stew

Limerick, Munster, Ireland
Thursday will probably be the least scenic of days on this journey, mainly because of the conference and because we didn't explore much. Jen also had to give her presentation, which went well. But, that it doesn't mean we didn't have fun!

Once the conference was done late afternoon, we hopped in a taxi to Roller Jam, a roller rink that plays disco and all the good stuff, under flashing lights . There was hardly anyone there, except a few people who were very good. We skated, drank some wine and skated a bit more. After that, we took a cab to Dolan's Pub where I got to try potato leek soup and Irish stew, accompanied with a Smithwick. It was a cool, traditional pub with music, but the men were singing mainly "American songs" like Landslide and stuff by Elvis. I was kind of like, where are the songs about the potato famine and dear Nancy who wouldn't give you her sheep or some poor lassie who got too drunk and stumbled home.... ??? Maybe another bar will have that sort of thing.

Weather continues to be sunny and beautiful. Someone said today that "Ireland is almost better with the clouds and mist. It makes it more Irish." I don't know..I can appreciate that, but I'll take the sun any day!

Until next time,
Jamie

Jamie- You need to find a pub that advertises TRAD (traditional Irish Music). So much fun!

Glad you guys are having such a great time. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
