Thought I should actually visit St Mark's Square

Venice, Veneto, Italy
I just took a stroll this morning around the Rialto area - no purpose except to get out of the hotel. Everywhere you go in Venice there is evidence that the city is sinking. Church towers in particular have a decided lean, as do arches across alleys connecting buildings.

I could make a photography book on canals of Venice . Every one is different and I don't get tired of seeing them and the many different bridges that cross them.

Wish I needed clothes and shoes as I could happily go on a spending spree here. The clothes are beautiful and there are several pairs of shoes I would love to buy.

Venice must have high humidity. The daily temperature has been about 23 degrees Celsius but it feels much hotter. Must be all that water.

After a bit of a sleep, I thought I really should go and have a proper look at St Mark's Square. So I played the tourist and had a walk around the Square. Took some photos of Florian's (the oldest café in Venice) but decided not to have a coffee there when I found out it would cost me 15 euros (22 AUD) - no coffee is that good.

I did have a gelato after dinner - thought I'd better have one given that everyone (tourists and local guides) rave about them. I'm not a big ice cream fan and it didn't convert me.
