Gol Gol, New South Wales, Australia
First stop on our adventure was at Gol Gol, (just across the Murray River from Mildura for those of you not in the know).
One of our Echuca neighbours moved here last year and it was wonderful to catch up with them. We miss our impromptu meals and drinks back home with them in Echuca.
Their new house is just a hop, skip and a jump from the Murray River, which is much wider and more picturesque further downstream from Echuca.
Us kids enjoyed the playground and driving the kid-sized Mercedes back at the house. Gol Gol means "meeting place" in the local Aboriginal language and it was the perfect meeting place. What an incredible start to our adventure!
Heading north we stopped off quickly at Wentworth, the confluence of the mighty Murray and Darling Rivers. We have visited previously but we never tire of running up the lookout tower to admire Mother nature.
It was time for some emu spotting as we hit the road again! We have only passed five caravans so far. (Dad decided to record our daily caravan count!)
