Home safe

Plano, Texas, United States
This morning I was packed, and checked out on time for a 07:00 drive to the airport. I went to load my luggage into the car before breakfast when I discovered the battery was dead in the car. The keyless entry wouldn't work, nothing would work. Not good.

I went back inside and asked about the airport shuttle. It would leave at 07:00; that was my new plan. I had a quick bite and caught the shuttle to the airport about 10 minutes away. Pushing my luggage out to the car-rental area, I explained where the car was a dropped the key, also stating I expected a refund. Then I retraced my steps to the Delta counter and checked in, happy to note I had upgrades for both the segments home, the first to Detroit and the second home to Dallas.

Both small planes left on time, and the short layover in Detroit was uneventful. Several Delta agents mentioned that traffic was only half that of a normal Sunday, because of the Super Bowl. I hadn’t realized that event could affect air traffic so much.

I finally arrived in Dallas at 2:30 pm, to be met by my lovely Marjolaine. It’s good to be home after a long but productive trip. Thanks for following along.

If all goes as planned, my next long trip will be in April, back to Africa once again.

Thanks for the updates. We're glad you are safe at home. I'm sure the brethren appreciated the Sabbath with you, even though the group was small. I imagine you had pleasant and encouraging conversation, sharing time with those who were able to be there.
