Day 6: Shelter Cove CA

Shelter Cove, California, United States
We spent the day in Shelter Cove on the Lost Coast of Humboldt County.  I walked a circuit around town during the morning.  Very cool homes here and quite pricey I am sure.  Got back to the hotel midmorning and then just watched the waves until around lunch time.  We took a drive up the hill to the general store.  I bought a wooden spatula and some cool pop up cards.
Back to the hotel for a lunch of local cheeses and the little bottle of Syrah I got at the winery a few days ago.  Then we walked down to the boat launch beach in Shelter Cove itself.  I found a few pieces of blue glass.  Most of it was not worn down, just broken but one piece looked like it had been washed around a bit.
Went back to the hotel and watched the waves all afternoon.  Doing a load of laundry downstairs as I write...going to walk over to Gyppo's Brewery for dinner. Apparently Gyppo was a type of logging camp in this area...
We had some excellent seafood chowder and some soft pretzels with beer cheese (and a few IPAs) at Gyppos.  Was very good and just a short walk across the golf greens and past the airport runway...
