Today we spent the day with family. We started the morning with some bagels from a local shop. The Rodeway Hotel we are staying at in Medford is not the greatest place; they have some weak coffee available as well as some OJ that Jerry ended up throwing out because it tasted weird (was out of a machine dispenser). The bagels from the shop were good though.
We met up with our nephew Jeremy around 10 at his house. He showed us all the home improvements he is doing and then we headed off, first to see his parents' window treatment shop (Jerry's brother Jim). Visited and then we headed off to Ashland, a town near Medford. Jeremy showed us the local park (Lithia Park) as well as the town fountain which dispenses the Lithia Water in usual times (turned off due to Covid). The water is full of minerals and slightly carbonated.
Then we strolled through town and looked at some art galleries, the Shakespeare Festival theatre (closed) and some funky shops. We stopped at a sushi place and had some great sushi. Then we were off again. Jeremy took us to Mount Ashland and we flew our drones up there (not quite at the peak which was still closed due to snow). Nice view and great view of Mt Shasta.
By now it was getting late, we headed back into town and picked up some wonderful Indonesian food in Ashland and then we all went over to Jerry's brother's house. Jeremy's wife joined us. We ate the wonderful Indonesian food and then played 3 games of Fishbowl and laughed a lot. By then it was 11 pm so we headed back to the hotel.
Unfortunately, there was a very loud group next to us with music and loud convo. Around midnight I called the front desk to complain and they shortly came by and has the peeps shut down the music. Then we finally fell asleep....
