We slept in a bit given the late night noise last night.  I went and got some bagels for breakfast (good salt bagels) and we were off and on the road by about 10.  We drove down the 5 into California, and exited on highway 89 near Mt Shasta.  We were going to stop at Burney Falls for a stroll but there was a LONG line of cars to get into the park so we skipped it.  We did stop in Burney for lunch.  Not many options, we ended up at a diner kind of place and I had a burger (no beer :( ) and Jerry had a Reuben sandwich.

Back on the road down rural highways; Google maps took us on some very back roads through thick forests of pines.  There was a huge plume of smoke behind us when we left Burney so we were glad to head in the other direction.  We only stopped for a very quick leg stretch in the trees and arrived in Chester shortly after 3.  We are at a Best Western and the room is very nice and spacious; much better than the cramped room at the Rodeway Inn in Medford.

Ran to the market to get some mixers as well as some health snacks (carrots and bell peppers) and we are relaxing for the evening... not too many photos today!
