Departure Melbourne - Kuala Lumpur - Rome

Melbourne. , Victoria, Australia
It has taken 22 years to plan a vacation to Italy, but well worth the wait and planning!
Departing an Alitalia Flight, operated by Malaysian Airlines at 3 .00pm and destination Kuala Lumpur. Then after two hours on the ground I connect my next flight onto Rome.

Flight prices have not changed since 1989, thus making it economical and affordable these days to travel. seems like more and more people are traveling and this flight was full house!

The best purchase I made was the Bose noise cancelling ear phones valued at $499.00, but I was smart enough to pick up a pair for $192.00. They are comfortable and seem to do the trick in blocking the aircraft sounds. They are much superior than the headphones they give out in cattle Class.

This was also the first time since being with my partner that I have travelled alone. Peter has remained home for a further two weeks with the fur babies, Lucy and Maggie, they will be definitely missed. Roby and Glen will house sit for us, once Peter joins me in Sicily in two weeks time.

Along with my luggage I have chosen to bring along my iPod, so that I may keep you Blog readers interested in my travels, my D40 Nikon Camera, A Manfroto Tripod and a Sony HD Handy Cam, to record our travels in pictures and film.

Travelling light was the key as the intention is to do some shopping whilst traveling in Italy and perhaps pick up on the summer sales.

Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur took 8 hours. There were no delays and very punctual. I entertained myself with a Sudoku book and an in house movie "Thor", which I thoroughly enjoyed. Continuing to Rome took another 12 hours. On the second leg, I was actually able to get some shut eye.
