Acireale, Sicily, Italy
After a good nights rest, the day continued with breakfast. Pina and I enjoyed a Grainta and Brioche. I choose Almond and Pistachio and my cousin enjoyed a Berry Granita, which I found too sweet! There will be no sugar diet here, so I will sit back and enjoy the cuisine.

Pina and I walked the streets of Acireale, whilst I took a number of photographs with my camera . Acireale is a beautiful town with many beautiful Palazzos and Baroque buildings. Acireale is a costal city and commune in the north-east of the province Catania and is at the foot of Mount Volcano Etna, on the coast facing the Ionian Sea. It is a diocese, famous for it's church, including the Neo-gothic St. Peter's Basilica, St. Sebastian's Basilica in the SicilianBaroque style, and the 17th century Acireale cathedral and a seminary for training Priests. Acireale is also noted for its art and paintings; the oldest Academy in Sicily, the Academia dei Dafnici e degli Zelanti.

We walked back to Zia Graziella where we joined her and sari for lunch. My favourite, Eggplant Parmigiana, accompanied with Calamari and a salad.

A relaxing afternoon, chilling out before joining Pina, Saro and number of Pin's work colleagues at the restaurant called Reitana, famous for its Pizzas. I ordered the Fattoressa, which had Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Anchovies, Tomatoes and peas. I have never had this pizza in Australia. After a pizza there is not much room for anything else and Pina and I finished the meal off with a Cinnamon liquor served in a Champagne glass and a very generous amount.
