Swimming in the Ionian Sea

Stazzo, Sicily, Italy
After a good nights rest I woken up to a breakfast of Granita and Brioche. I believe it has been the staple diet for the whole time I have been in Sicily.

The day was enjoyed relaxing by the waters of the Ionian sea and as well the frequent dips . The Mediterranean water are quite warm, but under currents which thrust into the water are freezing. After a while those shots of icy water are annoying and so I would return to bask in the sun.

An easy Barbecue lunch followed by Tiramisu and the remaining afternoon was an enjoyable card playing experience, playing Briscola and Scorpa. Two popular card games taught by Father and Grandfather whilst I was growing up. There was one change to the game that was new to myself, that was that we were now playing with five cards instead of four.

In the evening Fiorella, Nuncio, Mariella, Pino and few other friends and I had dinner at a little restaurant opposite San Sebastiano, a beautiful baroque Cathedral. I enjoyed a Chipolina and a Catochata. They would something similar to involtini, but with pastry.

Finally Fiorella dropped me off at San Giovanni to rejoin Pina, Saro and Zia Graziella, where I would remain for the night.
