Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
This morning we packed up and headed north for Wisconsin. We stopped for breakfast at Wildberry, a small chain in the Chicago area. The food was fresh, fast, and very flavorful. It was a good stop. We passed through Evanston again and browsed a couple shops before hitting the tollway for Wisconsin. After about $6 in tolls we were in Wisconsin. We had some traffic mostly due to construction that slowed us down a little. We arrived into Milwaukee about noon and quickly checked into our hotel and set out for lunch.

We drove to the historic 3rd ward district of Milwaukee and found some great lunch options in the Milwaukee Public Market . After lunch we set off for the Wisconsin State Fair. Along the way we saw Miller Park, the ball park where the Milwaukee Brewers play and some other interesting unknown buildings.

At the fair we were amazed at the mass of people, the awful fair foods, the barnyard animals, the vendors hawking sham-wows and more. Not sure why we were amazed, it was typical county or state fair stuff. Regardless we browsed the the dairy and craft exhibits, the merchant exhibits and the kids did a few of the non-carney rides. We browsed new cars, white tigers, stuffed lions, and discovered a Wisconsin State Fair treasure. Wisconsin State Fair is known for their cream puffs. These are no normal cream puff, they are the size of soft balls and made in a assembly line fashion. The line is long to get a single, triple or six-pack of cream puffs. We waited in line and secured a triple to share. They were really quite good. The puffs were light and the cream was fresh and sweet. The cream puff really is the treasure of the Wisconsin State Fair .

We continued to peruse the exhibits and vendors. Some of it was interesting, most of it was junk. People watching was worth the price of admission. Time for dinner and the food options were wide. Anything fried you can think of, food chocolate dipped, sugar coated and of course lots of beer. We found a place called the Double K that had fresh turkey burgers that were really good considering we found it at the fair. We passed on the chocolate covered bacon, and krispy kreme burgers.

Included in our fair tickets was admission to the Hillsong Live concert at the fair grand stands. We found our seats along with a full house of Hillsong fans. The concert was fabulous. Always great to see thousands praising Jesus! After the concert we quickly found our way back to our hotel for some well needed rest.

Tomorrow we meet up with some friends and explore Milwaukee a little more.
Good night.
