There is a gentleman in Dawson City who manages the local "home depot", and is the local coroner, is a trained baker and is Swiss. So every year he holds a party at his house to celebrate Swiss Day. It was a great time meeting local people and enjoying a lot of home made specialities, like moose, halibut, bison, amazing desserts and Heinz's famous Schnapps. I think it was paint remover in a nice bottle, but it was good.
Another activity for the evening was to drink a Sourtoe Cocktail . At the Downtown Hotel this is an evening event. My certificate says: ""In recognition that John Stephens in the presence of witnesses, drank an authentic Sourtoe Cocktal, thereby following in the wayward footsteps of Capt River Rat has proven to be a person capable of almost anything, and is therefore fuly entitled to bear this certificate with such rights and priveleges as may at any drunken moment be decided upon. I witness whereof I have herunto set my seal."" The Sourtoe Cocktail is a drink of hard liquor with a real human toe, and the toe must touch you lips !! Always wanted to do it. Won't do it again !!
