The End of Part 1

Fairbanks, Alaska, United States
What a day ! Up early, great buffet breakfast at the Coldfoot Camp. I have enclosed pictures of the room that cost $179.00 per night.
Then I road south on the Dalton Highway and passed through acres of fireweed that grow after a forest fire occurs .
There is also a place called Finger Mountain where odd shaped rock formations appear over a very small area.
I stopped at the Hot Spot Café which was a photographers place to play. There were so many interesting things, including the buildings, and the garden which was terrific, including corn which I understood couldn't be grown this far north. This place is located about 90 Km south of the Arctic Circle.
As I approached Fairbanks I turned on to a side road to buy some gas and came across the Howling Dog Saloon. If that building could speak, I think it would have stories that would make your head spin.
The road today was dry, dry, dry so all the mud, and goo had turned hard as a rock and flat so I was able to continuously ride at 80 Kph, except when the colour of the road became darker which meant dampness, and therefore slippery. It was a very delightful day.
I made it to Fairbanks and found a terrific campsite in the Riverside Campground where I am right of the river and inexpensive, including wireless internet, and clean showers.
I took many pictures of the bike as it is shocking how dirty it has become. I sent over one hour with a hose trying to clean it up. I'm gong to have a day of rest tomorrow as I'm sure the bike will need many more hours with polish to bring it back to pristine condition, and I need to buy and cut some more plastic sheets that I use under the tent each night, as well as lubricate some locks, tighten the chain.
