Editor's NOTE: Normally Glenn proof-read's my blog and does some major editing, however I am not asking him to do this for me, since he needs a break. So bear with me if there are misspelled words and the grammar is incorrect. Thanks for reading.

This morning we got up to have breakfast with Gene and Cheryl Martin along with our hostess, Verna Martin . We ate at Country Squire or otherwise known as SquireSide Cafe

I needed some more sugar, (right!), so I ordered Sticky Buns French Toast. Delicious. We enjoyed lots of laughs as we shared parts of our lives. Gene Martin has been down to Guatemala for the Intermissions Conference for a good part of the past 10 years. Glenn has gotten to know him as he is a foot reflexology guy. He gives foot rubs. And does a great job. I remember meeting his wife last year when she came along to help him.

And because of Gene, Glenn was able to use "foot rubs" especially when Pauline Williams was dealing with Cancer and there just wasn't anything else you could do for her. Glenn would go over to her house, heat up the water, soak her feet, and then just rub her feet. It was great therapy for Pauline. Lots of times we wouldn't have to talk, all we would do is just be there for her and Gary. Gene taught us some things over the years and supplied some things .

We tried to connect with David Conner, but he texted us and said he was having to work. We then thought we would head towards Baltimore and maybe take in the Aquarium, but as the day progressed and the weather was just beautiful - blue skies and all, we changed the program in "Betsy" to direct us directly to the Washington Monument.

We pulled into DC at 12 noon. Glenn found a parallel parking spot right on Constitution Ave and right between the Washington Monument and the White House. We pulled out our sandwich supplies and ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a few chips, apple and apple sauce along with some carrots.

Glenn and I then walked around, towards the White House. We took a few pictures in that direction, and then walked up to the base of the Washington Monument. The sky was so deep blue. The temperatures were kinda hot, like in the 90's. We walked down to the WW2 monument and took more pictures, then I zoomed in and took photos of the Lincoln Memorial.

Yes, we did DC in 2 hours. We were back in our RAV 4 by 3pm, heading out to the Cassada's house where they live in Ashburn. We made a few stops on our way. Had to pay the toll to get out here. Cash and Credit card.

Once we got to the Cassada's house, we unpacked, met the 4 kids. Rebecca, Joshua, Bailey and Sawyer along with the 2 new additions to their family, Lincoln and Levi who were adopted about 5 years ago.

We met the Cassadas when we spoke in their home group in 2010. And I also follow Courtney's blog each week.
