Greek Islands, Nafplion

Our ship anchored off the island of Nafplion, and we tendered ashore for the first time. We coached to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon where we learned about one of the greatest civilizations of Greek prehistory.

A wonderful lunch and an afternoon trip to the Theater of Epidaurus completed a full day .

I won't attempt to talk about what I learned because I'm still processing much of it. Suffice to say I'll be going back to my Greek mythology books with a better understanding of this period.

This stop was an alternative to our Istanbul destination when it was deemed too risky for us to go to Turkey. I have to say that sometimes Plan B can be better than Plan A.

We have been so immersed in Greek history for the past 6 days that we feel our brains have become black holes. I've tried to give you just a little here and there that might trigger your further interest.

Suffice it to say that when Road Scholar says Lifelong Learning they are not fibbing. No alternative facts there.
