We disembarked and boarded the coach for Valldemosa. We had a lovely drive up into the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains. The village is historic with narrow, winding streets made of weathered blonde stone. Over the years writers and artists have found inspiration here, including the Polish composer, Frederic Chopin.

Chopin spent time in the La Cartuja, a Carthusian monastery originally founded as a royal residence until changed to a monastery in 1399 .

We were treated to a beautiful Chopin concert held in a large room of the monastery, performed by one of the local residents. Chopin's piano and some original music scores are on display.

The day was beautiful and we enjoyed our meandering walks through the gardens.

We didn't spent much time in Palma, the capital, except to wander through the streets and stop for ice cream.
