We took the bus from Taganga to Cartagena it was only $40,000 door to door so that was sweet and only 4 hours.

Cartagena is beautiful it´s got a beautiful old town surrounded by an old stone wall and then a new city which is like the Goldcoast.

We dropped our bags and went straight to the pub and food a great place to have food.

We ended up drinking some rum (yeah Junior now loves his rum) back at the hostel and then headed out to another hostel for a roof top party which was great fun and beautiful view of the whole city,

We spent the next day checking out the old town which was just beautiful with nice flowered balconys and street vendors selling all sorts of stuff.

We did a day trip to Playa Blanca (white beach) bit of a fun mission to get there. We got a local crazy bus with a guy selling toothbrushes on it for 1 hour to some random port $1400 then caught a little boat to the other side of the river which took about 2 mins for $1500 from there we got a mototaxi for about half hour for $10,000 which took us direct to the beach. The way home was alot easier 1 boat ride $15,000 40 mins and yay I didnt get motion sickness for the first time so far on trip.

Playa Blanca was pretty the water was really warm and yes finally white sand. The only thing that was annoying was the vendors on the beach they didnt take NO GRASIS for an answer they just keeped up at us the whole day.

Today was Valentines day so there was love in the air in Cartagena. We decided to go to a Love Party on a massive pirate ship. The night got very interesting as we were then only gringos and we were thinking it was going to be this dance party but to find out it was a romantic cruise.

The boat finally set sail at 1am and then we saw some really young crew dancing near the J booth so we joined them. They thought we were funny and taking photos of us it was like they had never seen gringos before.

We did a tour out to the mud volcano $35,000 it was different its only about 30mtrs high but 2300mtrs when you are at the top you can go in the mud and weird men massage you. It was a strange feeling.

We ended our time in Cartagena with a cask of red wine and sat on the wall watching the sunset (ahh so romantic) very beautiful.
